Extra virgin olive oil
Our mission is to spread traditions, culture and awareness about the nutritional benefits of extra virgin olive oil, recognized both by the Mediterranean diet and by the scientific community. The etymology of the word “oil” comes from Latin “oleum”, itself from Greek “ἔλαιον” (élaion), meaning “olive oil”. Originally, it was in our territory, Magna Graecia, that olive oil was considered a divine gift, a symbol of peace and prosperity, and its production was central to daily life and sacred ceremonies.
Our oil is a blend with unique characteristics. It is made up of 70% of the Geracese cultivar and the remaining part of Ottobratica and Nocellara Messinese. Its golden color and aromatic and fragrant taste may vary slightly depending on the vintage, always maintaining an excellent quality. Among our specialties, bergamot flavored oil stands out for its distinctive and refined flavor.
Our production process is meticulously organized to guarantee adequate times and quantities such as to have a valuable product, far from industrial logic. The harvest begins in early October, the ideal period to have the highest quality extra virgin olive oil (EVO). I still remember when, as a child, I watched with wonder as my grandparents spread their nets and gently shake the olive trees, dropping the olives which we then picked together into boxes.
Today, as then, olives are harvested by hand, using facilitators so as not to damage the plants and directly from the nets spread under the trees. At the end of the day they are brought to the company and cleaned. Only selected olives arrive at the oil mill. Milling takes place within 24 hours in the dedicated laboratory. The secret of the authenticity of our EVO Oil: Tradition.
